There’s Nothing Wrong With Me
©John Allen
I only stammer when I talk
I only stumble when I walk
Along the lonely path from my front door
There’s a tiredness when I’m awake
It’s the habits I’m trying to break
I realise it’s not what my body’s for
There’s nothing wrong with me
Nothing I can see
When I am strong
There’s nothing I can’t be
There’s nothing wrong with me
Well not that I can see
I don’t belong, but I get along,
There’s really nothing wrong with me
It hurts when I start to think
Why the evening always turns to drink
Dignity was never my saving grace
The optician can’t say why
There’s no life in my lazy eye
The look of love has never seen this face
There’s nothing wrong with me
Nothing I can see
When I am strong
There’s nothing I can’t be
There’s nothing wrong with me
Well not that I can see
I don’t belong, but I get along,
There’s really nothing wrong with me
